Eureka Sprintcar Series Heads to Echuca – Moama this Weekend
Author : Ian Vale

The Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series returns to Heartland Raceway Echuca / Moama for round ten of the Series this Saturday night the 27th of February with a field that is full talent once again, Milburn, Reed, Anderson, Mollenoyux, Dobson, Pestka, Lacey and the list goes on.

Earlier in the season round two of the Eureka Series at Heartland was lost to heavy rain as the drivers were running their hot laps but the month of February normally produces warm weather in the Moama region so all is looking good for this event.

With Darren Mollenoyux fresh from a win at the last round of the Series the points battle at the top of the leader board is tightening up between the three leaders, while Brett Milburn has comfortable lead in the Series, Corey McCullagh and Darren Mollenoyux’s performances of late keep them in touch with Milburn, finishing at the pointy end of the field for these three come feature time will be important.

Now with Matthew Reed, Grant Anderson and Jeremy Cross in the nominations list these three drivers have all experienced feature race wins at the Heartland Raceway Venue and are sure to be contenders on the night once again.

Corey McCullagh also had a good finish at last week’s round of the Series and is showing good consistent performance in the Series with one round win added to his resume this season Corey must be consider for a top five place on the night.

Once again Glen Sutherland will make the trip from Mt Gambier, Glen put in a big driver last season to take a second place at Heartland Raceway and he will be looking to repeat that form.

Tim Hutchins continues to support the Eureka Garages and Sheds Series at each round making the trip over from Tasmania with his crew each week, a top ten place will be rewarding for their efforts and might just move them into the KTM top ten.

Luke Walker and Adam King’s recent form will have these two drivers looking for good results in the heat races to lock themself direct into the Eureka A Main event.

Another pair of drivers more than capable of taking the round win is South Australia’s Daniel Pestka and Tasmania’s Shaun Dobson, not strangers to the podium.

Jye Okeeffe has been very impressive this season, each race meeting he continues to improve, Jye was unlucky not to take his maiden feature win at the Simpson round of the Series but a feature win is on the horizon for this young charger.

Speaking of the young drivers both Brayden Parr and Jordan Charge are both have a strong season in there rookie year of open sprintcar competition, Brayden sits in 20th place in the points standings which is a remarkable effort.

Add in some of the regular Eureka Garages & Sheds Series drivers, James Hennessy, Kristy Ellis, Peter Milnes, Eddie Lumbar, Dennis Jones, Andy Caruana and Jacob Smith all indications is this will be another night of racing not to miss.
