A strong Entry list for Eureka Series Round at Mt Gambier.

Borderline Speedway Mt Gambier presents round four of the prestigious Victorian based Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series this weekend with a very impressive list of over thirty nominations once again headed by the current Eureka Series point’s leader Tim Van Ginneken along with the current Series Champion Brett Milburn and two time Australian Sprintcar Champion David Murcott plus last round winner Peter Doukas.

Nearly all the top twenty drivers in the Series have entered for this meeting that will have a strong contingent of South Australians out to give the Victorian drivers a run for their money.

Mt Gambier’s Glen Sutherland sits in third place in the Series and he is knocking on the door of his first Eureka Series round feature win after some top performances in the first two rounds of the Series. Two other local drivers from Mt Gambier in the field are Ashley Scott and Rory Button plus South Aussie lady racer Lisa Walker and Aiden Hall.

Two drivers that put in the long haul each week to part of the Eureka Garages & Sheds Series and will be at Mt Gambier is Western Australia driver Scott Reilly and Tim Hutchins and loyal crew head over from Tasmania again.

Deniliquin’s Eddie Lumbar is hoping to be in the seat this weekend after a broken leg in the off season has hampered his racing program a little this season so far.

Last weekend’s round three of the Eureka Series saw some very impressive drivers, Terry Kelly driving the S37 car has been putting in some good performance and took a heat win and valuable points in his next heat to put him direct into the A Main.

Peter Doukas took out the round three Eureka Series Feature in fine style to defeat Jye Okeeffe who led the race for the first twenty laps before finishing in second place ahead of Tim Van Ginneken. Jye has been showing so much promise and a feature win is not far away for the young Warrnambool driver.

Brett Milburn knows his way around the tight Borderline venue and after having a few misfortunes in the first two rounds Brett will firstly want to qualify direct into the A Main event, he has the car speed and if he can get to start up the pointy end of the field he will be hard to beat.

David Murcott the two times Australian Sprintcar Champion knows what it takes to win with many feature race on his resume including the round one win in this seasons Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series.

Warramboo’s Corey McCullagh is another of the new breed that is a major player each night he races, Corey took a round win last season. Of the two rounds completed so far Corey has had to transfer to the A Main via the B Main but his performance driving thru the fields at both events have him sitting in fifth place in the Eureka Series point’s standings.

Past Eureka Series Champion John Vogels is another tough competitor and he is more than cable of adding his name to winner’s trophy on Saturday night at Borderline Speedway.

As stated earlier an impressive list of nominations and with the level of competitors it is hard to pick a winner but one thing is for sure this is a sprintcar meeting not to be missed.
