Ian Loudoun is the Sixth different winner In the Eureka Series

The Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series has been run over six rounds so far this season and there have been six different winners, round six of the Series was conducted at Avalon Raceway last night with Ian Loudoun taking out the win in convincing style to be the sixth different winner so in this seasons Series.
A tough night at the office it was for many drivers that would see six drivers roll their machines throughout the night, the first casualty of the night was V72 driver Jacob Smith who suffered a mechanical problem that would send him home early. But it was heat seven that had Jye Okeeffe take the first roll of the night that would put a holt to his proceedings for him and a chance to move to the top of the Eureka Series points table.
After the very hot weather the day prior this hampered the Avalon Raceway’s track preparation that would see a rare track preparation required half way thru the night.
But this did not stop Ian Loudoun from being the man to beat after topping the qualifying points to earn pole position for the Eureka Garages & Sheds A Main event.
As time was getting on before the Main events the top six shootout was dropped leaving the top six qualifiers to line for the Eureka A Main as follows, V3 Ian Loudoun, V17 Dennis Jones, row two, V68 Brett Milburn and Act83 David McKay, row three S20 Glen Sutherland and V91 Brad Warren who were followed by the V36 driver Tim Van Ginneken, T7 Tim Hutchins, V73 Charles Hunter, V92 Matthew Reed, V9 Rod Matthews and V78 Chris Campbell.
The final six starting positions were taken by the B Main transferring drivers of Peter Doukas V98, John Vogels, V70, Jesse Nicholas V66, Sam Wren V84, Braydan Parr V77 and V58 lady driver Rhiannon Burleigh.
Both the C Main and B Main were decaled before full race distances were completed due to incidents and due to the lateness of the night to make sure the A Main stated on time. The C Main event was taken out by Dion Bellman from Brenten Farrer, Scott Reilly and David Aldersley who transfer to the back of the B main.
Ian Loudoun took the lead as the green flag waved for the start of the Eureka Garages & Sheds R6 A Main that was also the Avalon Raceway Gold Cup, Loudoun was quick to open a gap back to Dennis Jones before the first red light when Chris Campbell rolled on lap four. One lap latter and Matthew Reed pulled to the infield before he red light was back on for Brad Warren when he rolled in turn two, Glen Sutherland received wing damage in the is incident as he tried to avoid Warren.
Take three and Loudoun was in good form taking a clear lead at the restart to leave Dennis Jones and Tim Van Ginneken who was up to third from starting position seven and Brett Milburn fighting the second place. A few laps latter and it was Jesse Nicholas that brought the red lights back on again for the final time in the race.
Under way once more and Ian Loudoun was in control gapping his rivals, Jones, Van Ginneken and Milburn would engage a war between themself for the entire race, Glen Sutherland was keeping these drivers in his sights but with a little car damage from the earlier incident with Warren the car was not handling the best.
The mover of the pack was John Vogels who was moving thru the field after having to qualify to the back of the A Main from the B Main, Vogels was up to seventh place by mid race distance.
As the laps were winding down Loudoun was moving thru lapped traffic doing this with relative ease looking for his first feature win for some but Van Ginneken could see lapped traffic could work for him and started to close in on the race leader leaving Millburn still in third place to fend the late charges of Jones and Vogels.
Two to go and no lapped traffic separation the two leaders, Van Ginneken was on the charge but Ian Loudoun held on to take the win buy just over a quarter of a second from Tim Van Ginneken while the rest of the back lead by third placegetter Brett Milburn were a further five seconds back.
Home in fourth place was Dennis Jones who had to fend off the fast finishing John Vogels, Sutherland took sixth place, Tim Hutchins had one of his best runs in the Series so far to finish seventh, Charles Hunter, Peter Doukas and Sam Wren rounded out the top ten. The other finisher in order was Brayden Parr, Rhiannon Burleigh, Rod Matthews and the luckless David McKay. Mackay qualified for the Eureka Garages & Sheds A Main in fourth place but a mistake that saw him spin on the way to race start for the main event had him sent to the rear of the field for a second push start.
Heat wins on the night went to T7 Tim Hutchins, V3 Ian Loudoun, V9 Rod Matthews, V42 Jye Okeeffe, V73 Charles Hunter, V78 Chris Campbell, Act83 David McKay and V17 Dennis Jones.
The Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series moves on today for the second night of the double header to Simpson Speedway Simpson for round 7 on Tuesday the 27-12-2016.
