Redline Raceway Present the Eureka Series R9 this Saturday Night

The Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series gets back into action after a month’s break and returns to Redline Speedway after a six year absence with most of the top twenty drivers in the Series points nominated and ready to move into the second half of the Series.

The Redline venue has undergone many changes since the Series last visited and the effort being put in by the club for round nine of the Eureka Garages & Sheds Series has been nonstop to put on a big night of Sprintcar Action.

Last round winner Corey McCullagh has been one of the most consistent drivers in the Series this season and sits only one hundred and twenty six points behind the Series point leader Glen Sutherland. Both the current Eureka Garages & Sheds Series Champion Brett Milburn and Tim Van Ginneken bagged some good points also at the last round conducted at Heartland Raceway back in early January to tighten up the top four places in the Series, there is only one hundred and thirty two points between Glen Sutherland in first place and Brett Milburn in fourth.

The Eureka Garages & Sheds Series has completed seven of the eight rounds so far this season with Simpson Speedways round seven being rained out and there has been seven different drivers that have taken a Eureka A Main feature win so far.

Now three of those drivers are entered for this weekend’s event, Glen Sutherland, Corey McCullagh and David Murcott who returns to the Series after having to miss a couple of rounds due to his Q83 Queensland Based Teams commitment, Murcott will be back in the Victorylane Racegear V88 for this weekends event.

While these drivers having a Series feature win on the board so far there is no assurance that they will get another this weekend when you look at Brett Milburn who’s form has turned after a poor start by Brett’s standards.

Tim Van Ginneken form seems to be improving with age with, he has shown the speed needed to take a win; a front row start would make it hard for any driver to run him down with his present form.

Brayden Parr continues to impress after a strong second place in the Series at Heartland, another top finish will not be out of the question for the young charger.

Marty Perovich in the Network Industry N17 is making the trip down from Sydney this weekend, Marty is one of the hard chargers in Sprintcar racing and he should be right in the mix on the night.

Charles Hunter is another driver that is enjoying one of his best seasons he has had for some time, Charles is a real chance to move into the KTM top ten this weekend.

The young Victorian 360 Sprintcar State Title Champion Jordyn Charges and his Western Nissan V60 Team will be working hard to continue his good run in the Series and also try to move into the top ten.

Other movers and shakers in the field are Brad Warren and Terry Kelly along with David McKay, these drivers will work hard looking to qualify straight into the Eureka Garages & Sheds A Main and not thru the last chance B Main.

One Driver that could call this his home track and only lives a short distance from Redline Raceway is Rod Matthews, Rod had a run here last season and liked the venue, a good showing in front of his many friends and family from around the district will be his goal, a top three or four placing on the night for Rod is quite possible.

Sam Wren has cut many laps at Redline Raceway in his wingless car before stepping into Sprintcar, Sam is also another local driver.

Some of the other drivers nominated are the travelling Western Australian willbury Scott Reilly, Eddie Lumbar from New South Wales is back in the Series after an injury that put him out for the first part of the Series.

The likable one! David Aldersley is also entered along with Chris Campbell, James Gardiner, and Portland’s Adam King.

Ross Jarrad will make his first appearance in the Eureka Series to join a Series regular Stephen Spark, Robert Nicholas is doing a limited race program this season and also returns to the Series this weekend.

Eureka Garages & Sheds the Series Naming rights sponsor has one of their branches in Ballart at 202 Learmonth Street Alfredton, this branch has some very impressive sheds on display, well worth a look.

For the best Sprintcar Action in the State this weekend be at Redline Raceway Ballart for round nine of the prestigious Eureka Garages & Sheds Sprintcar Series.
On Track action will commence at approximately 5pm with the support classes and Sprintcar action to follow shortly afterwards.
