Great Field Set for Eureka Sprintcar Series Round 9 at Hamilton
Author : SRA Media

A great night is planned at Western Speedway this Saturday night, February 18th when the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series rolls into town to contest the seriously important round 9. Twenty seven drivers have signalled their intentions to compete in the wool capital of Victoria with series points at a premium with only four rounds remaining in the 2022/23 series.

Series leader is the ultra consistent Terry Rankin aboard the PJS Motorsport VA29 as he continues in his bid for a maiden series championship while seven time series champion Matthew Reed is breathing down his neck in the series battle.

Series rookie Jordy Rae finished a strong runner up in his last start, Tasmania’s Tim Hutchins and round 2 winner Ashley Cook round out the series top 5 and are all in action this Saturday night.

A number of exciting additions to the series regulars will make Saturday’s event at Western Speedway, Hamilton one not to be missed with exciting Supercar’s regular Cam Waters strapping into the Chief Racing Sprintcar as he continues his rapid improvement .

Also add in the defending Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series champion Daniel Pestka who returns to Hamilton will be popular and despite not chasing the series points this season will be a strong contender for the win driving the James and Jamie Stark owned and tuned S27.

Last start feature winner Chris Solomon stunned everyone with a brilliant drive to win round 8 at Moama two weeks ago and will go into Saturday night full of confidence at the wheel of his trusty V83 as he now sits outside of the top 5 in sixth.

Off the back of a strong run in the recent round Brayden Parr now looks solidly locked into the top 10 while his speed all season long has not been questioned, only his lack of luck while he’s not the only driver to suffer a shortage of luck this year.

Jordyn Charge changed his fortunes last event with a stirring run to third place and in good news for fans travelling to Hamilton, Charge will be a welcome addition to the field as he returns to the venue that has been the home of some of his biggest wins in his Sprintcar career.

Arguably one of the most exciting aspects of the night will be the Sprintcar debut of Dane Court, a local businessman and Super Rod racer and he’s also been an exciting addition to the presenting partners of the SRA courtesy of G&C Forestry along with Dane’s soon to be wife Stacey and business partner Michael Grist.

Yet more excitement will come in the form of Tasmania’s Brody Appleby, Portland’s Adam King, Mepunga’s Jake Smith, Horsham round winner Grant Stansfield and Warrnambool’s Peter Doukas while Leigh Mugavin will also be in action.

All drivers will contest time trials, a heat race each plus the top 8 shootout while a B-main will all occur prior to the 30 lap A-main.
