The SRA Sprintcar Series Returns to Premier Speedway this Weekend
Author : SRA Media

The points shakeup in the SRA Sprintcar Series will continue this Saturday night at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway as the venue will host round 4. In what’s been a busy start to the series this will be the fourth round in five weeks and a number of drivers are looking to consolidate their current positions.

The SRA Sprintcar Series has already seen three different leaders at the top of the standings following the first three rounds and Bobby Daly’s challenge this weekend is to stay ahead of the chasing pack.

Daly is looking to capture his first SRA Sprintcar Series crown while South Australia’s Daniel Pestka is keen to add a second title in three seasons.

Another strong field will assemble at Premier Speedway intent on taking the win and spoiling the points party led by last start feature winner Tate Frost. Hailing from Westbury, Tasmania, Frost was brilliant in his duel in the closing stages of Avalon’s A-main when he battled with Jamie Veal. Frost lost his race long lead late in the A-main but was good enough to race back to the front and record a popular win.

Along with Frost, Jordyn Charge continues to impress since his amalgamation with Ken and Benisa Hutchins and raced has way to a runner up finish last weekend and will continue his quest for a breakout win this Saturday night.

The form guide for Saturday night suggests that Queensland super star Lockie McHugh will again be a force off the back of another feature win at his home track in Toowoomba. The former classic champ will again team up with Geelong based car owner Domain Ramsay.

Brock Hallett returns trying to capture the form that saw him win a pair of SRA Sprintcar Series rounds last season and will again return to the venue of his winning Classic drive last January.

Another fan favorite Marcus Dumesny will be among the leading contenders as he will also try to recapture the form that has carried him to a preliminary A-main win at the Classic.

Speaking of fan favorites, Cam Waters will once again suit up and extend his experience in the Sprintcar ranks as he continues to impress with another top 10 result to his name last weekend at Avalon.

Race fans will be also keen to see the return of Queensland’s Jy Corbet as his front row start at Warrnambool a fortnight ago should stand in good stead for another solid run.

Corbet will be joined by exciting fellow Queensland teen Ryan Newton who’s podium at the 2022 Max’s Race event at Warrnambool showed his incredible speed and he’ll be keen to gain valuable data at Warrnambool leading into the busy January period.

Jordyn Brazier managed a strong finish in the most recent A-main at Warrnambool and will once again make an appearance along with South Australia’s Chad Ely and New South Wales duo Alex Orr and Zach Pacchiarotta.

Warrnambool this Saturday night is also a significant chance for Glen Sutherland to accumulate more points as Brett Milburn, Terry Rankin and Dane Court will all attempt to secure a strong position inside of the series top 10.

Public gates will open at 4pm while Sprintcars will be on track from 5pm this Saturday night at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway for round 4 of the SRA Sprintcar Series.
